新しいものが出てきたときに「前にもあった。たいしたことない」とか言う人は、使いやすさに対する認識が甘いと思う。同じことをやるにしても、使いやすいというだけでユーザ体験は劇的に変化する。

LDRは最初のRSSリーダではないけど、速いから新しい。

Tumblrはブックマークレットとdashboardが便利だから新しい。

アカデミックの世界は、基本的にそういう「新しさ」を認めない。だから誰も使わないような珍妙なものが量産されて、実際誰にも使われないことが多い。
